How Did We Make the Rainbow Quilt for the N H S ?

Update:  On the 17th of December 2021 we finally managed to raffle our quilt.  Delays because of COVID.  We raised £180 which was donated to Macmillan Cancer Care in Bournemouth and Southampton hospitals, UK.

As February 2020 arrived, our Machine Quilting Group at Greystones, had to close down due to the covid-19 virus.

We decided to be in touch by email.

Rainbow became a symbol of “hope” and as we could not hug nor kiss our dear ones, it became quite difficult. My grandchildren sent me their beautiful rainbow paintings..... that gave me the idea of a rainbow block from each one of us, to make a quilt to donate.

As there were no shops open, we each made the rainbows with the fabrics from our stashes, which made it more special, more meaningful.
